I guess the questions I have is part of the process. Some questions can’t and won’t ever be answered. Maybe others will.
One of the questions I have is “how long has this cancer been inside me?” The experts can’t answer that because it had been 3.5 years since my last mammogram. Three and a half years - what was I thinking?
I was thinking that I was immune to cancer so it didn’t really matter how often I had a mammogram. I was thinking I had bigger priorities than having a “routine” mammogram. I wasn’t thinking very smartly, was I?
There’s a big life lesson there. Do what’s best for you… your health… your future. Take the time to do what is needed, whether it’s something you want to do or not. Don’t take the easy way out. Don’t procrastinate. Make sure you know what your priorities are.
And women… make sure you get your yearly mammograms without fail. It could save your life.
