WHITE ELEPHANTS

Here is a blog post Don wrote about me and our situation. He’s such a wonderful and loving husband and father. I am so blessed. And he gives me more credit than I deserve. (And the reference to the white elephants is an inside joke.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been truly blessed. God has given me the greatest gift He could possibly give me, my wife Diana. She has filled my life with such happiness. She has given me 29+ years of incredible joy, given me and raised our two beautiful kids that I am so, so proud of, filled our home with such love and laughter, and the list goes on and on.
Diana has been dealt one of life’s hard challenges recently. One of those challenges that is life changing and hard, if not impossible, to accept. One of those challenges that make you ANGRY and leaves you asking ,“WHY ME!” These are my reactions as this challenge unfolds. Tears are streaming down my cheeks as I write this as I so do not want her to have to go through this. Yet, as I mentioned, she continues to influence me.
See, Diana is one that always see’s the glass as half FULL, always focusing on the positive and not the negative. Diana has taught me and our kids to always have a positive attitude and try not to let things bother us as much. She continually reminds me that we are in control of our attitude, and our attitude determines how we live. Diana has several reminders around our house of this important life lesson such as the sign above our back door that says, “Live well, laugh often, love much” or one above our front door that says “Enjoy the Journey”, as well as numerous others. God has been speaking this lesson to me recently through an old song that I have CONTINUALLY heard this week, “We Live” by Superchick. You can listen to it by clicking Here.
One of Diana’s life verses is Proverbs 3:5-6 which says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight”. She lives this, she is an example of this to me every day.
May we all see the glass as HALF FULL as Diana does and have a positive attitude, trusting in God with all our heart. What an incredible difference that would make in our lives. I thank God for Diana each and every day.
I love you dear, more than one hundred white elephants!
