THE ONCOLOGIST

We left the surgeon’s office and went straight to the oncologist’s office. To be honest, I was wondering why we needed to see this doctor. I felt like we just got all the information we needed from the surgeon.

As it turns out, the oncologist also gave us more and good information. He talked to us more about cancer itself, the chances of me getting cancer again, and what I can do to improve my odds of not getting cancer again.

He wanted me to start thinking how I can improve three areas of my life… my diet, how much I exercise, and the connection between my mind and body. He suggested some books and a few other resources for all of this.

He did, indeed, give me a lot to think about. I think it’s time to start making some changes. I want to be as healthy as I can be, and of course, I don’t want to get cancer ever again. So, it’s time.

I’ll see the oncologist again two weeks after my surgery.
